Celadon Collection青瓷
青瓷梅瓶 · 徐丽华手工拉坯
$1,280
A modern reading of the classic Song meiping — the "plum vase" form favoured by scholars for a single flowering branch. Thrown on a kick wheel from Gaoling kaolin, then dipped in a plum-green celadon glaze that breaks into a fine ice-crackle across the shoulder. The colour shifts from pale jade in daylight to deep river-green at dusk; no two pieces react to the kiln in quite the same way.
| Height | 36 cm (matching the traditional meiping proportion) |
|---|---|
| Diameter | Ø 16 cm · mouth Ø 5.6 cm |
| Material | Gaoling kaolin porcelain, 1,300 °C wood-kiln fired |
| Glaze | Plum-green celadon with natural ice-crackle |
| Artist | Xu Lihua 徐丽华, third-generation Jingdezhen master |
| Edition | 30 pieces, individually numbered on the base |
| Care | Hand wash, avoid thermal shock, dust with soft cloth |
Celadon is the rarest glaze to master — one extra breath in the kiln and the green turns grey; one degree too hot and the crackle vanishes. This is why fewer than one in five pieces survives our firing to reach our vermilion seal.
